Mr Ravi Dutt New Delhi.

Mr Ravi Dutt was surfing a VSNL website when he first got his internet connection in 2001. There he got a list of important websites where indianblooddonors.com was one of them. He immediately logged on and registered on the website. Then there were quite a few blood donors on the site. He started donated blood since 1989 when his aunt in his family needed blood. Being of sound health he started donating the gift of life regularly every three months.

Once he went to donate platelets for a friends daughter who was 5 years old at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute which is located close to his residence. When he saw the plight of young children who needed blood he was moved and decided with his group of friends to donate blood and platelets to these children whenever the need arised.

Quite often Mr Ravi Dutt would ask us to send him stickers to create awareness about the helpline in New Delhi. He started helping patients in New Delhi and Noida by logging on to IBD and contacting donors and helpling out patients who did not have access to the net. Many a times when he would be eligible to donate blood he would log on to IBD and check out the Home page to see if there were any request for B+ve blood group.

Mr Mustafa Jetpurwala and Mr Chintan Siriya

I am in Mumbai Today. I met two of our volunteers from Mumbai who have been helping patients in Mumbai who need blood donors.

Mr Mustafa Jetpurwala had called me a few years back and sent me some Literature on Wheat Grass. He has been using our site to help patients who need blood in various hospitals in Mumbai. Recently Mustafa has undergone a Bypass surgery himself. We wish him a speedy recovery. Mr Mustafa Jetpurwala run an Electronic Repair Shop on Modi Street , Opp GPO, Mumbai.

Mr Chintan Siriya had registered on our site as a blood donor , he was contacted by patients to donate blood for their near and dear ones. Sometime in December 2006 Chintan called me up one night and asked me to help a friend of his whose brother had fallen down from a local train in mumbai . The Accdient victim needed 2 donors of A-ve Blood Group. We SMS'ed a few donors who contacted the patients brother. They donated blood for the patient. Since then Chintan has been a very active Volunteer for IBD in Mumbai. Chintan Siriya works for Cap Gemini.

Ramesh makes it easier for the Patients

I saw IBD after 1o days. Called Ramesh , he handled the system well. Ramesh said that at times he was getting call after call , making it impossible even to have his lunch . He had to authenticate the requests and then send out the SMS to the donors. What he did in these 10 days was the beginning of a new system which we aim to develop in the next few months. Ramesh used to authenticate the request send the SMS alerts to the donors, he would also give the numbers of the donors to the patients relatives so that they could talk to the donors . With this done the coordination between the Donors and the patients was much faster. And the ratio of sending SMS to the donors came down.

Vipassana - Ramesh handles IBD

January 2007 I am taking a break of 10 days as I am going to Igatpuri for a Vipassana Course for 10 days . Ramesh will handle IBD. Its is going to be quite a task for him. Handling different Languages as we get request from all over the country. This is going to be a real test for Ramesh to understand the system well.

Ramesh Sannareddy - God Sent

Mr Ramesh Sannareddy sent us the first months contribution towards our Internet Bills. I called up to thank him . From the moment i started talking to him there was this chemistry that we have with a person who you know for a long time. When i told Ramesh that i would send him a copy of the Internet bill that he had paid for . He replied that it was not needed . He had full faith in us.

Ramesh then told me something which would change the way indianblooddonors.com worked. He told me that our database was being misutilised by network marketing companies, insurance companies for selling their products. He himself was contacted by an insurance agent to sell their products.

I told Ramesh that I was aware of such a problem and that i wished to revamp the site. But could not do so as my one and only volunteer (Gnani) was leaving the country and would not be able to give quality time. Ramesh told me that he could take care of the coding of the entire site. It is said that when God closes one door he opens up another one for you.

Mr Ramesh Sannareddy from Hyderabad sent us a mail telling us that he would like to sponsor our Internet Bills. He would contribute every month towards it.

Gnani Leaving for the UAE

Gnani is going to UAE , he has joined a new IT company there . He worked on Indianblooddonors.com from December 2003 to April 2005. I am quite apprehensive as to who would look after the maintenance of the site.We need a person who is devoted and dedicated to the cause.
